The One Quote to feel Your Inner Power

I wish I found it sooner.

A little while ago my life upturned and I felt like I had hit rock bottom. It the first time I ever saw myself go down.

It took me a long time to get back on to my feet, a whole year actually, because I took my rock bottom so seriously that I reinvented myself entirely.

One of the quotes I held on to for my dear life was the above quote. I’m not sure where I found it along my journey to healing, but it struck a chord deep in my being.

“Study yourself. Become your own mentor and best friend. When you are suffering, stay at the bottom until you find out who you are. Let the storms come and pass. How you walk through the fire says a lot about you. Nobody likes a victimhood mentality and what happened to you is not important. It is about how you use your chaos that matters.”

This part of the quote always stood out to me because reading it to myself from a 3rd perspective felt like I was a parent admonishing myself. It felt like I was telling myself to look at the mess I made. To look at the mess of a life I had. The mess of a mental health I had. The mess of the priorities I had. The mess of the hurt and pain I was in.
